Join the local interior design community as it celebrates the results of ZeroLandfill 2007. Learn first-hand from the ZeroLandfill Project Team what the industry was able to achieve this summer as evaluation samples headed for the waste stream were collected, diverted, and returned to the community as viable materials for a variety of audiences.

Special guest speaker will be Cheryl Duvall, LEED AP, author, and principal of the workplace consultancy Avance LLC in Ellicott City, MD, who will present a global headquarter project case study entitled : "Conquering Change : The Hanesbrands Inc. Story."

Get a special sneak preview into the 2007 Ohio Solar Tour as we hold our September meeting at the residence of Barbara Starre, highlighted in this year’s Akron area tour. Featured speakers are John Galehouse of Galehouse Construction, builder of the Starre Residence and winner of the Portage & Summit County 2006 Home Builders Association for "Best New Homes and Construction." John will explore LEED and other programs used to certify green building designs and projects. Likewise, hear from Patrice Theken, Director of the Planning Services Department for Medina County, as she discusses programs and commitments to sustainability in the Medina County region. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to view a video of the Starre residence compiled by the Medina Planning Services Department and tour the home.
