This year’s market season will be increased from 13 weeks to 18 weeks, running every Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. from June 3 through October 7 on the lawn in front of the Crile (A) building on the Clinic’s main campus (off East 100th Street between Carnegie and Euclid avenues). Visitors to the market this year can also look forward to produce, meats, dairy, eggs, bread, flowers and other food items from more than 35 different local producers and farmers, an increase from the 25 vendors who participated in last year’s market. The first market on June 3 will celebrate the start of strawberry season in Northeast Ohio with special recipes and cooking demonstrations. Since many attendees expressed an interest in enjoying a healthy meal while shopping at the market, organizers have incorporated new prepared food options for visitors this year. The additions include a burrito stand, a crepe-making stand and an Italian/Mediterranean foods stand, all of which will use market ingredients to make their menu items. Start: 3:30 pm

NorTech's Advanced Energy Speaker Series and the CSU Levin College Forum Program, in partnership with MAGNET and The Greater Cleveland Partnership, present "A Dialogue on Cap and Trade: A Response to Climate Change." The debate over cap and trade in the United State has intensified since President Obama took office in January 2009 and made climate change legislation one of his top national priorities. Congress is currently considering legislation to limit greenhouse gas emissions and reduce the effects of pollution on our environment. A newly proposed national "cap and trade" system would set a government ceiling on emissions and allow those companies emitting greenhouse gasses to buy and sell permits to meet the new regulations. On June 17, a panel of experts will present a range of perspectives on the proposed cap and trade system and engage the public in an open discussion on this very timely topic. Join us as we explore "cap and trade," and how it could impact you and your community. Welcoming Remarks: Ned Hill, Professor and Interim Dean, Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs, Cleveland State University Moderator: Dave Karpinski, Vice President, NorTech
