Road Accident In Charlotte

Start: Mar 18 2010 - 1:00am

End: Mar 18 2010 - 1:00am

In Charlotte, when there is an accident
especially a car accident everything can be a confusing and it is
hard to make a right decision, when you are involved at the moment
of accident. Someone are always give a piece of advice about what to
do and a measures to take afterwards. But at the time of accident,
there is no a valid advices that you can understand or remember. And
that is where you need an advice from a Charlotte personal injury
lawyer, to get some advice.

The most important to remember when you
are in the moment of accident, is to be careful in making you
decision you must be precise and be accurate. You have to remember
that, in behalf of the tension that is extreme you should remain
calm, in that way you can think properly and make a proper decision
regarding the accident. Do not make any rush decision and
testimonies. Always think every words that came out in your mouth,
better yet to wait a Charlotte personal injury lawyer. If you got any
injuries try to stay inside you car until the appropriate help
arrived. If there is an instance that people blamed you about the
accident, always wait for a police, a Charlotte personal injury
lawyer and medical help. If you run away this may be a cause or
worsen the situation.

Start: Mar 25 2010 - 1:00pm

End: Mar 25 2010 - 4:00pm

This day-long symposium will consider the similarities and differences in the histories of urban modernization in cities during the late 19th through the early 21st century—with a look at global cities now under construction or in the planning stages. The particular focus will be on the composition of elites, local versus international economic and political agendas, and the science and technologies involved.

Papers will assess contemporary developments in Seoul; 19th-century Moscow and the impact of the Polytechnical Exposition of 1872; the urban-centered and industrial-based City of Detroit in the 1920s-1960s; and the modernity of the Panama Canal at the turn of the century.
Sponsored by the Department of History and the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities of the College of Arts and Sciences at Case Western Reserve University and the National Science Foundation.

Registration: Free and open to the public.
Both practicing planners and attorneys will present and discuss the significance of these cases on such factors as: formulating the comprehensive plan (B.J.Allen vs Congress Township); addressing the shifts in market supply and demand and the impact on development trends (Visconsi vs. Strongsville and Szentpetrey vs. Strongsville); evaluating what constitutes “advancing the public interest” (Jaylin Investments vs. Moreland Hills); understanding the range of land use and zoning choices that are reasonable to consider while protecting private property rights (Shemo vs. Mayfield Heights, et.al.); and

•The techniques and merits of working with developers in resolving potential disputes before they reach court.

Who should attend: elected officials, law directors and land use attorneys, professional and citizen planners, and developers.

Lecture: Something Fishy: Blue Revolutions, Sustainability, and Environmental History

Start: Apr 1 2010 - 4:30pm

End: Apr 1 2010 - 6:00pm

Since 1980, aquaculture industries have expanded rapidly in Latin America from Mexican mangroves to the fjords of Patagonia. What this potential revolution in food production means for Latin America's economies and ecosystems is the subject of a fierce debate that revolves around the idea of sustainability: advocates see aquaculture as an industry that reduces pressures on ocean fisheries while creating food, livelihoods, and export revenues. Critics cite marine pollution, the introduction of exotic species, and the creation of hazardous work conditions as major problems. This talk will demonstrate how the interdisciplinary perspectives of environmental history can help us evaluate the promise and peril of aquaculture in Latin America.

Lecture presented by John Soluri, Associate Professor of History at Carnegie Mellon University.

Lecture: The Map of Ebullient Life: Language, Reality and Time in the Sixth Mass Extinction

Start: Apr 8 2010 - 4:30pm

End: Apr 8 2010 - 6:00pm

In the face of the sixth mass extinction underway, can ethicists use the idea of species effectively? Species are often seen as fictions, leaving an unrepresentable void in ethical consciousness of our mass extinction of life. This presentation develops a context for the intrinsic value of species, understanding them as pragmatic forms holding on the scale of deep time.

Lecture by Jeremy Bendik-Keymer, Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Lemoyne College in Syracuse.

EcoWatch's Green Gala with Robert Kennedy, Jr.

Start: Apr 9 2010 - 7:00pm

End: Apr 9 2010 - 11:59pm

EcoWatch is excited to host its second annual Green Gala and bring visionary environmental leader and advocate Robert Kennedy, Jr. to Cleveland.

Robert Kennedy, Jr., son of Senator Robert Kennedy and nephew of President John F. Kennedy, is a staunch defender of the environment and has been named one of TIME magazine’s “Heroes for the Planet.”

He is senior attorney for the Natural Resources Defense Council, chief prosecuting attorney for Riverkeeper, president of Waterkeeper Alliance and co-host of Air America Radio’s Ring of Fire.

Kennedy’s message addresses the issues of sustainability, global warming and other threats to our planet. As Kennedy says, the environment is not a Republican or Democratic
issue; it’s a human issue that impacts everyone. Kennedy inspires audiences to find that common ground. He has a never-ending commitment to protecting the environment that envelops every facet of his life.

EcoWatch is a state-wide, nonprofit organization working to encourage individuals, businesses and governments to adopt sustainable lifestyles, business practices and policies.

We fulfill our mission by publishing a bimonthly newspaper EcoWatch Journal that is distributed for free throughout Ohio. EcoWatch Journal publishes 70,000 copies per issue, and is a venue for the sustainability community to promote solution-based sustainability projects happening throughout the state.

Participants will gain experience with permaculture by developing designs for emerging urban garden projects, installing a demonstration garden and visiting established systems. This course will also include a weekend trip to explore the renowned local food system of Athens county, Ohio.
