Cuyahoga SWCD is offering a series of Credible Data training workshops in 2010, including: QHEI: The Qualitative Habitat Evaluation Index (QHEI) is a physical habitat index designed to provide an empirical, quantified evaluation of stream/river habitat characteristics. The resulting scores are correlated with the biological integrity of sites in Ohio. This tool is a visual method that is useful for prediction of biological impairment, or lack thereof, based on quickly assessable habitat parameters (substrate, in-stream cover, channel morphology, riparian zone/bank erosion, pool/glide and riffle-run quality, and map gradient). This introductory training is a requirement for approval of Qualified Data Collector (QDC) habitat assessment status (Level 2 or Level 3). Trainer: Ed Rankin Workshop dates: May 18-19, 9AM -5PM July 14-15, 9AM-5PM Cost: $20.00 (does not include lunch) Chemical Water Quality: The Chemical Water Quality Assessment Training is intended for people who need training in water quality sampling, measuring stream discharge/flow, and/or creating a sampling plan or Level 2 project study plan.
