Just a reminder that we will have our next Food Policy Coalition quarterly meeting tomorrow,Wednesday, July 7th at 9:00 - 10:30 am at Trinity Commons at 2230 Euclid Ave. in Cleveland.  For this meeting we will highlight innovations in healthy food access in Greater Cleveland and hear from three local leaders about their initiatives:


DON GADDIS, CENTRAL COMMUNITY CO-OP
Don Gaddis in partnership with Cuyahoga Community College and community stakeholders started an innovative distribution system that brings fresh produce to residents in the Central neighborhood.
 
BETH KNORR, THE COUNTRYSIDE CONSERVANCY
Beth Knorr is the market manager for two markets in Peninsula and Akron and for the Countryside Conservancy.  Last year the Conservancy piloted an incentive program to provide bonus bucks to Ohio Direction Card recipients who shopped at their farmers’ markets.
 
TRISH SUPPLES, PRODUCE PEDDLER
The Produce Peddler is a new community-based initiative in Cleveland to encourage kids to eat healthy using an ice cream truck as a mobile fruit and vegetable stand.

Free parking is available in the parking lot at Trinity Commons, entrance off of Prospect Ave.
Light, local refreshments will be available.
