The Arctic Voices Global Warming Community Forum will feature three Arctic indigenous spokespersons — eyewitnesses on the front line of global warming today. The evening event will include a special audio welcome from polar explorer Will Steger in Baffin Island. Speakers include: Sheila Watt-Cloutier (former chair of the Inuit Circumpolar Conference from Nunavut, Canada and Nobel Peace Prize Nominee): Olav-Mathis Eira (Vice President of the Saami Council, Norway); and Sarah James (Neetsaii Gwich'in Indian from Arctic Village, Alaska). The tour will enable Arctic indigenous leaders to share their stories and speak to the ethical imperative for immediate action to move quickly to curb global warming.
