Volunteers are needed for some spring cleaning of Big Creek!.
11th Annual Big Creek Watershed Cleanup
Saturday, June 6, 2008 (Rain date – June 13)
Three locations:
Brookfield Park, Brookfield Ave.(between Bellaire & W. 130th)
Snow Road Picnic Area (Big Creek Parkway off Snow Road)
Memphis Picnic Area (Memphis Ave. at Tiedeman)
In addition to the Brookfield/Chevy Branch Bellaire-Puritas site, we will target the Parma/Parma Heights stretch of the Big Creek Reservation from Brookpark Road to Stumph Road. From the Snow Road Picnic Area, participants will work north to Stumph Road and south to Brookpark Road or shuttle directly to those areas after sign-in. We will also target areas along the main and west branches of Big Creek within the City of Brooklyn from a staging area in the Memphis Picnic Area.
Recommended attire: long sleeves, slacks, boots or work shoes. Bags and gloves provided. Children under 18 must have adult supervision. Refreshments provided.
This site is inspired by the memory of Richard Shatten, a former board member of EcoCity Cleveland,
who pushed Northeast Ohio to think strategically about regionalism and sustainability.
