I think we are challenged as humankind has never been challenged before to prove our maturity and our mastery, not of nature, but of ourselves.
Cleveland Public Art in partnership with the Great Lakes Science Center commissioned renowned New York artists Allan Wexler and Ellen Wexler to create a permanent public art installation surrounding the GLSC's wind turbine. The collaboration, coined WindWorks, resulted in the Shadow and Light installation that utilizes art as a tool for education about science and the environment.
This site is inspired by the memory of Richard Shatten, a former board member of EcoCity Cleveland,
who pushed Northeast Ohio to think strategically about regionalism and sustainability.
