Come learn about innovative local foods Australia-style. Darren Doherty is a permaculture designer from Australia. Permaculture is a design method that seeks to create a “permanent agriculture” that mimics natural systems and minimizes chemical and fossil energy inputs. Learn about his experiences around the world developing permaculture and a “keyline method” of farming that enables farmers to build soil and store water. Lecture and discussion to be followed by concert by the Oberlin-based Plum Creek String Band. EVENT IS FREE WITH A $5 SUGGESTED DONATION.
