SOUTH EUCLID -- The Third Annual South Euclid Recycling Committee "Freecycle"
The Freecycle allows residents to get rid of items they no longer want and, at the same time, pick up items they may want. There is no charge for items one takes from the event.

"It's a way to reduce solid waste by sharing, or recycling stuff," said Ward 4 Councilwoman Jane Goodman, a member of the city's recycling committee. "Everybody has too much stuff, and this is a good way to get rid of that stuff."

"We had some good things last year," said SERC co-chairwoman Jean Nadeau. "We had a mounted swordfish, and things like computers, bikes, used exercise equipment and, of course, clothes and books."

Nadeau said fellow co-chairwoman Madeline Pollack came up with the idea for the Freecycle, which is not known to take place in any other area community.
