Lube Stop President to Speak at Tri-C West on Sustainability
Location
Lube Stop, Inc. President, Thomas Morley will speak at Cuyahoga Community College (Tri-C) Western Campus, located at 11000 Pleasant Valley Road, on Tuesday, February 9 at 12 p.m. in the North End of the Student Services Building. His presentation, “Sustainable Innovation,” will last for approximately 45 minutes. There will be time available for audience questions. Lube Stop is an $18 million quick oil change company with 240 employees operating 37 locations in Northeast Ohio. Since Morley joined Lube Stop in 2004, sales and operating profit have increased while employee injuries and turnover have dropped more than 50%. Lube Stop is one of the first quick lubes in the country to develop a sustainability program, focused on reducing the company’s ecological impact and improving the communities in which it operates. The company has received several awards in recent years including Governor Ted Strickland’s “Award for Excellence in Environmental Stewardship” in 2008 and a “Northeast Ohio Environmental Award” from the BioDiversity Alliance in October 2009. Morley is passionate about socially responsible business and is committed to creating a culture of sustainability at Lube Stop. He is a graduate from Hobart College and the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. He is a trustee at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, serves on the Steering Committee of the Corporate Sustainability Network, and is a member of Entrepreneurs for Sustainability (E4S).
Morley is being hosted by the Western Campus Green Team, the Tri-C Student Environmental Action Group, and the Tri-C Sustainability Department.
