Start of a multi-day course running through Aug. 24 -- The Oberlin Permaculture Design Certification Course (PDC) is designed to teach participants to design and develop sustainable systems anywhere in the world. It is targeted at anyone who wants to become a more effective and sustainable participant in today’s world. The program is taught in in a group format that allows for continuous feedback and improvement. Drawing on the instructor’s extensive experience on 5 continents, the focus is on design and students will complete a minimum of 5 design projects throughout the course. The schedule adheres to a ”one day to a subject” format, following the sequence of the curriculum ‘Permaculture: A Designer’s Manual’ by Bill Mollison.

Graduates of the 72 hour course will be awarded The Permaculture Institute’s Permaculture Design Certificate. After 2 years, of applied work graduates may then apply to the Permaculture Institute for a Diploma of Permaculture. See www.tagari.com for more details. T instructor  for the course is Darren Doherty (Permaculture Institute Registered Teacher #29) a an internationally known permaculture designer who has taught over 30 PDC’s across the world. including 10 solo, working with renowned teachers Bill Mollison, David Holmgren, Penny Livingston-Stock, Robina McCurdy, and the late Joe Polaischer among others.The course runs daily from 9:00 to 4:00 pm, with one day off midway through the course. Field work will take place at the George Jones Farm, but depending on enrollment some classroom presentation time may take place at an alternate  location close by.
