Join the Cleveland Institute of Art for the Cleveland premiere of The Unforeseen. Executive produced by Terrence Malick (Days of Heaven, The Thin Red Line), this mesmerizing, award-winning documentary on suburban sprawl boasts the brooding melancholy and sublime visual splendor of his own films. Demonstrating how a planned housing development outside Austin, TX would pollute and despoil a popular local swimming hole, the movie forces us to reexamine the American Dream and the meaning of “growth” in this era of rising home foreclosures, failing financial institutions, and shrinking natural resources. “Astonishing…(A) transformative viewing experience.” –Variety. “The best, and the least ballyhooed, of the recent wave of ‘green’ documentaries.” –The Village Voice. “One of the great docs of our time.” –Film Journal International.

Fee. Second showing on Saturday, June 28. Free parking at the CIA lot. For more information call 216/421-7450 or go here.
