West Shore Corridor stakeholders meeting

An effort to develop commuter rail service using existing tracks has re-emerged in the West Shore Corridor – a market which offers some of Greater Cleveland’s highest population densities and regional commuting traffic levels into downtown Cleveland.

Fact finding & stakeholder discussion on rail transit’s potential to improve regional access, and boost economic development and mobility within the West Shore Corridor. Agenda:

  • Welcoming remarks by Cleveland Councilman Kevin Kelley, Chairman, Aviation & Transportation Committee.
  • U.S. Major Transportation Project Development: “traditional” and “creative” funding approaches. Guest Speaker — David Vozzolo, HDR-S. R. Beard & Associates, and former deputy associate administrator, Federal Transit Administration, office of planning and environment.
  • City of Cleveland staff update: Status of Norfolk Southern negotiated agreement with communities.
