What does organic on labels mean?

We are looking for answers to or suggestions for our 'Burning questions' section. Feel free to add any knowledge or clarification you have about this question or any other one in this forum. Also, add as many of your questions you need answered.
I see "organic" and "natural" on many cosmetic beauty products but how do I know what's good or what these ingredients are?
