Saint Luke’s Pointe

Neighborhood Progress, Inc. and the Cleveland Foundation are collaborating on the Saint Luke’s Pointe development project, which is in Cleveland's Buckeye neighborhood.

Saint Luke’s Pointe includes the redevelopment of the old St. Luke's Hospital and library into 100 housing units and new single-family housing.

The project is aiming for LEED-Gold certification, and might include on-site renewable energy generation. Project managers are investigating a possible a district-wide geothermal unit to provide heating and cooling for residents, and buildings would follow 'green' practices.

NPI is also discussing ways to tie its Strategic Investment Initiative into Greater Cleveland's pilot LEED-Neighborhood Development projects with the goal of expanding the reach of the LEED-ND project into the existing neighborhood. A city initiative to create a Green Design Overlay District may help facilitate this goal of model green blocks.
