Trust for Public Land

The Trust for Public Land (TPL) is a national, nonprofit, land conservation organization that conserves land for people to enjoy as parks, community gardens, historic sites, rural lands, and other natural places, ensuring livable communities for future generations. Examples of TPL assistance to NE Ohio include a partnership with the City of Avon Lake to acquire 70 acres for conservation, and the acquisition of 574 acres at Geauga County's Bass Lake. TPL's GREENPRINTING services (as compared to blueprinting) helps communities make informed decisions about land conservation. The Greenprint process uses GIS based mapping tools and a visioning process .
