Administrative Committee
- Energy Advisory Committee: “The Energy Advisory Committee was formed in November 2005 by the University Provost, John Anderson. The EAC is charged with institutionalizing a commitment to cost effective, environmental impact reduction in association with campus facilities and operations, curriculum development, research, and student life, while also serving as the critical link to constituencies across the CASE campus.”
Green Building
- The Village @ 115 is LEED Silver with one LEED Gold building. In addition to green building features such as light shelves, motion detectors, low-flow plumbing fixtures, and a groundwater recharge system, The Village @ 115 also has informational kiosks in each residential house so that students can see their real-time electricity, steam, and water use.
- Mandel Center for Nonprofit Organizations is a green building with a vegetative roof and energy efficient systems.
Energy
- Website with real-time energy use for students
- The University’s Adopt-a-Building program attracts volunteer Energy Ambassadors to act as energy conservation advocates in campus buildings.
- Motion sensors and efficient lighting fixtures have been installed in the library
Food
- Case uses Bon Appetit Management Company for its dining hall food services. Bon Appetit is committed to local food sources and has initiatives such as “Farm to Fork” and “The Low Carbon Diet.”
Transportation
- Undergrad, staff, and faculty discounts for RTA
- Free campus shuttles
- Free area “Circulators” to Coventry, Shaker Square, and Little Italy
Events
- Sustain-a-palooza is an on-campus event to highlight the range of environmental and sustainability activities happening around Northeast Ohio. It was held during the first week of the 2007-2008 school year. Eighteen local organizations and an estimated 300 people attended the event.
