The Cleveland Foundation leads an unprecedented planning task force that brought insular instututions — University Hospitals, The Cleveland Clinic, and Case — to the same table with more than a dozen neighborhood and nonprofit groups.

The foundation has $1 million to jump-start plans for three transportation projects: A new RTA Red Line Rapid station at Cedar/University; possibility of a new Rapid station in Little Italy to replace the underused stop at E. 122nd Street; and changes at E. 105th and MLK Drive.

The hope is for transit-oriented development, better connections to existing nodes of activity, and a friendly pedestrian environment.
