Beth El The Heights Synagogue is beginning to take on more sustainability initiatives within its building and transportation.

- Instead of moving east with urban sprawl, the founders decided to re-build an old building in Cleveland Heights, within walking distance of some of its congregants, and have been retrofitting the building ever since to make it more energy efficient.
- Older windows have been replaced with more energy-efficient windows.

A member of the congregation donated a bike rack for use by community and businesses using the building.
