Membership and annual fund manager

The Nature Center at Shaker Lakes. Employee Type: Full Time, Temporary (part-time may also be considered) (Startinng October 6, 2008 through December 31, 2008)

Reports To: Development Director

The Membership and Annual Fund Manager is responsible for overseeing the Nature Center’s giving programs for Individuals, including the Membership program, the Annual Fund appeal, the Heron Society, the production of the Annual Report, and completing other administrative duties as required.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the membership program, including gift processing and acknowledgement, mailings, new member campaigns, members’ only events, and assisting members with questions and suggestions, reporting and providing accurate and timely updates
  • Oversee all aspects of Annual Fund appeal mailings, including strategizing, creating, and implementing all Annual Fund materials, soliciting and tracking pledges, recruiting Board Members and volunteers to assist in its execution, processing and recognizing all gifts, reporting and providing accurate and timely updates
  • Creates and oversees the production and content of the Annual Report
  • Communicates effectively with other staff, volunteers, board members, and donors
  • Performs duties on time and within budget

Additional Duties

  • Assists the Development Director and Grants Manager with all aspects of the development department, as needed
  • Contributes to the editing and writing of the organization’s newsletter, Rookery
  • Assist with the maintenance of the database
  • Assist with the coordination of internal events and programs
  • Additional duties as assigned Required Skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of personalities
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, adapt to change, work independently and with a team, to prioritize effectively

Desired Skills

  • Minimum of two years experience in nonprofit fundraising, writing, researching, or related field
  • Familiarity with database programs, particularly FilemakerPro

Compensation

Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
