Meeting Minutes – 4/14/11

 Celebration Committee – Committee members announced the following:

·       Volunteer opportunities for Earthfest and the Ingenuity Fest were discussed.  Contact Jeff for additional information.

·       Michele reported on the Forum on Energy Efficiency at CSU held in March.  If you missed the forum, you can access the video here: http://urban.csuohio.edu/forum/events.html.

Emerald Cities – Shanelle Smith updated the group on her Emerald Cities developments:

·       After a discussion on the EC program, the Green Building Retrofit Workgroup came to a consensus in our support of the EC initiative.

·       Shannelle discussed a County Green policy recommendation document that Appollo Alliance is working on in collaboration with Policy Matters Ohio.

·       Shannelle and Loree discussed the upcoming Emerald Cities Task Force meeting on April 18.

Advocacy – Lilah Zaunter and Will Sikora reported from the sub committee’s latest meeting

·       The committee is developing a matrix of the various green building and energy policies for Cleveland and the first ring suburbs.  This will eventually be an on-line tool that includes details about codes and incentives.

·       The group is also beginning outreach to a few suburbs to discuss collaboration.

·       It was suggested that perhaps we invite the First Suburbs Consortium to an upcoming meeting.

Case Studies – Rob Svets provided minutes from and reported on the Case Study Committee’s latest meeting:

·       Goal is to compile case studies in energy, waste, water and resource savings.

·       Rob, Michele and Jeff met with Tricia Brown to discuss collaboration with Corporate Sustainability Network outreach.

·       A list of potential projects will be distributed to the committee for their input on potential contacts.

·       Michele and Rob are discussing potential resources for interns to support the data gathering process.
