Since announcing its plan in August to develop a downtown bike station—a facility offering a combination of secure bike parking, showers and lockers for those choosing to commute by bicycle—nonprofit group ClevelandBikes has been working on concepts.
The concept is a bit more real thanks to architect Richard Van Petten, AIA, and planners at the Cleveland Planning Department, who have helped advance the project for a city-owned parking garage on East 4th Street and High Street, just across from the Quicken Loan Arena, according to Cleveland Bikes' Kevin Cronin.
