ClevelandBikes continues to sponsor its Bike to Work days during the spring and summer months as an example of the promotion of healthy living though cycling.
The Bike to Work routes begin at different points East, West and South of Cleveland. For more information on the routes and meeting locations please go to www.ClevelandBikes.org. This program has been successful in providing bicyclists an opportunity to meet others who are choosing the healthier route and using their bikes as transportation. It also offers those cyclists with less road experience a chance to learn from experienced commuters as they ride into the city together. Cyclists meet up with other cyclists at the destination point, AJ Rocco’s Espresso Bar, which has supported ClevelandBikes commuters by offering free coffee and bagels.
ClevelandBikes advances and promotes all forms of bicycling as economical and healthful recreation, sport and transportation; and advances and defends the rights of Northeastern Ohio cyclists to use the roads and to fair trail access. The organization promotes Bicycling in Northeastern Ohio, assisting in the improvement of community design to focus more on healthy activities such as biking and walking, and assists in educating the community as to the benefits of cycling and effective and safe bicycling techniques. who pushed Northeast Ohio to think strategically about regionalism and sustainability.
