We have to convince the cities with plentiful resources to share taxes with cities of limited resources in the interest of the region. Regionalism is the key buzzword, but translating that to real action will be a challenge.

Cleveland Public Art took on the role of hosting a design contest for the exterior of the parking garage that will become the Bicycle Station at Gateway. There were many interesting submissions and the judges worked long and hard. These photos are of a particularly interesting idea, that captures the imagination of everyone's first bicycle, with great color, relying on the wind to create energy and dynamism. The concept is affixing large-scale color handlebars ends (about a foot long), with cord tassels. What do you think?
