Watershed species: Red-spotted newt. Photo by Judy SemrocJust about everything one might want to know about the Vermilion River is in the beautiful book, Living in the Vermilion River Watershed. Read about the book here, and download chapters here.

The book includes 23 articles and over 300 full color photographs, contributed by 25 local writers and 18 photographers. Among the topics are farm conservation programs, geology, native peoples, birds, fish, wildflowers, invasive plants, and water quality.

The book was a collaborative effort of many organizations and volunteers, including Oberlin College faculty and students and the Western Reserve Land Conservancy's Firelands Chapter. Overall editors were Jan Cooper and Mary Garvin.
