Cleveland Foundation blasts Ohio power policies

David Beach  |  11/14/07 @ 5:26pm

In an extraordinary set of comments to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO), The Cleveland Foundation recently blasted state electricity policies for producing:

  • No true competition in retail electricity service.
  • Likely future electricity price increases to retail customers.
  • Minimal innovation or entrepreneurism in electricity markets.
  • Dubious reliability of electricity service.
  • Unsustainably high air emissions from electricity generation.

Go here to see our coverage and the entire document. And go here to see the foundation's ideas for an advanced energy strategy for Ohio.
