Hot times on the cool lakefront

Northeast Ohio's hottest environmental-themed party, Burning River Fest, ignites this Saturday (8/12) with live music, local food vendors, exhibits?and, sure, a chance to sip a cold Great Lakes beer while lazing about, staring at the lake lap the shores of Whiskey Island. Also, honor our area's unsung environmental champions in Green Building, Environmental Health, Sustainable Business and more with the announcement of the 2006 GreenCityBlueLake awards. For all of the information go here.

And this Sunday (8/13) is part two of the Walk + Roll street party on MLK Drive - we went last Sunday and it was exhilarating biking right down the middle of the road from E. 105th to the Lake (stopping to chat with friends who had just finished playing in a drum circle and checking out an Ultimate Frisbee game). Get your bike or in-line skates out of storage and head on down to this completely legal taking over of the street. Read all about it here.

What are you doing this weekend?
