From trash to art supply

ZeroLandfill is collecting a mountain of sample booklets from architects and interior design firms and redirecting it to local artists and arts educators.

Since 2006, the volunteer group has diverted from local landfills and re-purposing back into the community 133,739 pounds of specification samples.

They're in the midst of the annual dumpster dive giveaway and need volunteers each Friday until the beginning of September to help at its 3631 Perkins Avenue location. Design students: You will be doing a great thing and have access to thousands of prime fabric, carpet, tile, wall covering, glass, and more samples for your projects.
