Sustainability summit update from the city

Marc Lefkowitz  |  10/08/09 @ 3:27pm

The city of Cleveland sent an email to summit participants with a brief update on the post-summit work. Maureen R. Harper, the city's chief of communications, writes: "Mayor Jackson and (Case Fowler Center for Sustainable Value chief) Dr. Cooperrider continue to meet weekly to develop the next steps and drive towards our goal of a Sustainable Cleveland by 2019. In the coming weeks, I anticipate additional announcements and more information to be available about next steps."

  • We have reviewed the notes, flip charts and foam boards that the break-out groups submitted at the end of the summit and we have compiled a list of 28 initiatives that were developed at the summit. The attached list contains a summary of each initiative based on this review as well as input from team leaders. These initiatives will be analyzed and prioritized as Sustainable Cleveland 2019 moves forward.
  • If you haven't already, please join www.clevelandsummit.ning.com to connect with the work groups, other participants, City staff and Dr. Cooperrider's staff at the Fowler Center. This site is for our Summit break-out groups to connect, plan and post information."
