Rutabaga Nights II

The Lakewood Earth & Food (LEAF) Community is pleased to announce the 2nd Annual Rutabaga Nights celebration and fundraiser, to take place Saturday May 1st at the Lake Erie Screw Factory Building at 13000 Athens Avenue, in Lakewood, from 7pm to midnight. The event will include local food from some of the best restaurants in Lakewood and surrounding communities, local beer and wine, local music, and a silent auction with items from local businesses and artists.

Proceedsfrom the event will benefit LEAF programs, including LEAF Nights, offering weekly access for hundreds of families to local Community Supported Agriculture programs (including City Fresh, which will also benefit from the event) as well as local vendors, music, and art, from June through October. LEAF activities that will benefit from the event also include overseeing 150 community garden plots, organizing bulk purchases of local and organic dry goods, and providing educational programming to the community through the Third Thursday Speaker Series.

Pre-sale tickets for the event are available at $25, $50, and $100 price levels, with $15 tickets available for students and those under 21 (Add $5 at the door). Payments beyond $25 are tax-deductible. Tickets are available at the Root Café (15118 Detroit Ave.), GreenSmartGifts (14534 Detroit Ave.)in Lakewood and Gypsy Beans and Baking Co (6425 Detroit Ave.) in Cleveland.
