Dr. David Jarzen, Cleveland Museum of Natural History research associate, will discuss how a potentially hazardous and life-threatening malfunction of NASA's Solid Rocket Booster thermal protection system was identified and remedied through his expertise as a palynologist (one who studies pollen and spores).
