Lecture on mining impacts in Ecuador

Lecture by Dr. Glen Kuecker, professor of history at DePauw University, about the struggle of small rural communities in the Intag region of northern Ecuador against efforts by the Ecuadorian government and international mining companies to open large, open-pit copper mines in Intag. The title of his presentation is, “Fighting for the Future: Local, National, and Global Perspectives on Intag’s Anti-Mining Struggle in Ecuador.” The lecture is co-sponsored by the BW Dept. of Biology and Geology and the Northeast Ohio Sierra Club.
